Treasures for my troubles

What a week to run out of coffee... both kids have decided to have some kind of ill advised circadian rhythm shift and start rising at 6ish - a full hour and a half earlier than usual. Simultaneously I'm in recovery from the brunch pop up I did on Sunday (think 200 red velvet waffles, endless cauldrons of hot blueberries and bourbon syrup, very very sore feet by the end) and have been lent a lump of new Game of Thrones episodes - which means bed before half past midnight is a thing of the past. As is staying up late for valid, cool reasons...but that's another issue. It's another almost-week before the next delivery of my absolute favourite coffee, so I was powerless to refuse an invitation to join my friend Hannah for a relaxing (with two toddlers - ho ho ho) dose of caffeine at our local cafe. The cafe, Arts & Crusts, exhibits local artists and the lovely gal who served our coffee had her beautiful work up in the window - lovely, quirky embroidered vintage handkerchiefs. I might need to own one and hang it on my wall. Check out Poesie Grenadine

crush of the week...

Bit of a lull in the Crush of the Weeks of late, as I read Hattie's amazing blog Free Our Kids and decided to stop being such a wanter of things! And actually it worked, and I haven't wanted or bought much for a few weeks now. But this blog is a bit overburdened with pictures of cakes and babies if I don't publicly desire some gorgeous stuff once in a while, so I've forced myself to get back in the saddle.

Ok, so it's another mum and baby matching outfit post. I KNOW - I need to stop. I am not sure it's a good or a bad thing that all of the gorgeous bits of clothing I stumble upon for Indy are magically available in my size too. I've been in love with Beatrice Valenzuela's stuff for ages (and totally follow her rad looking life on Instagram) but just recently re-stumbled across it and remembered how badly I want want want it. All the shoes are handmade from naturally dyed animal skins. I'm all about these ladies' 'Botines' and some hightop 'Combinados' for the kids please. Please?

Another week, another want. Beautiful mini Ace & Jig-lets from Darling Clementine, now available for pre-order. Just perfect...

As usual I am also lusting after the mama-sized versions for my essential imaginary wardrobe of dreams...

Dyeing of love (see what I did there?) for these beautiful little jumpsuits and culottes from Wolfechild. Is $58 for some dip dye culottes a little silly? Yes....in fact, in my world, it's a lot silly. But aren't they beautiful!? When I next have acres of uninterrupted spare time, preceded by a full night's sleep and the foresight to buy all the materials, I absolutely plan on forging ahead with some home made ombre jumpsuit creation. Watch this space.

Lit up

It feels like it has taken ages for someone to come up with an idea as rad as this. Polaboy take your photo and turn it into an awesome giant Polaroid-shaped LED light installation! Who doesn't need one of those? They are fully customisable down to the cable design. Lightboys, the folk responsible, also make some incredible ceiling light photo-frescoes and huge LED photo light-walls. Very cool.

I've had a holiday from blogging whilst we had two actual holidays, with some lovely family-wide flu and birthday mayhem in between. But now I'm determined to get back on track - though we have been in the UK two days and already both the squids are up to their eyeballs in snot and I'm spending most of my time fixing hot lemon, cinnamon & manuka honey drinks for them (Indy is most perplexed by these concoctions...)

Meanwhile, in my fantasies, I shall be purchasing these dreamy sheets from D. Porthault seen in the snaps of Rita Konig's magical little home on The Selby. I'm trying to hunt them down in the UK - God forbid I have to end up making a trip to Harrods. Also I have discovered they cost an extremely large amount of money and were inspired by the Duke & Duchess of Windsor. Visit the D. Porthault site at your peril - pretty much everything on there is gorgeous and you'll probably end up contemplating selling one of your own children to own a crisp new set of their sheets. Or even just a washcloth.

ALARM....oh so many alarms....the new Mini Rodini collection features a tiger print skirted swimsuit. It's not cool that someone of my age get this excited about tiny swimwear. Also adoring this little t-shirt. Both added to my wish wish wish list.

With the streets of London awash with ice and grime, and hot Mediterranean summers looming on the horizon...of my imagination...it's only natural I should start dreaming of baby bloomers. Right? There is nothing sweeter than little cotton toddler baggies, pantaloons and knickers in beautiful prints and patterns. Indy's drawers (HA!) are fairly stuffed with them already, and she has been sporting them all winter long over tights, which I think has been a pretty rad look for her... Of course, as with most of these baby clothes crushes, my real wish is that they made them in my size. (Luckily for the rest of mankind, they don't.) Indy's top most awesome pair of bloomers are from Simple Kids - white knickers with metallic green and pink thread running through! - though I just had a proper hunt and can't find anywhere currently selling any online. SAD TIMES. Or just another excuse to pop to Liberty, where I got her last pair? I remember standing there, pregnant and bewildered, for what felt like hours as there were so many incredible patterns to choose from. In the meantime, feast your eyes on these beautiful little summer trousies from Caramel...

Alarm - the new Bobo Choses collection is out and obviously I adore it... I can't work out what it is that they always get so right. It's a lovely mix of design and comfort with nostalgia (for me) and genuine childishness. Dreaming of having it all...

It was pretty much impossible for me to narrow my crush down to these six items, the rest is almost-just-as-gorgeous. Available now from Bobo Choses, Shak Shuka and more.

Thank you magical Pinterest for drawing my eyes to this little beauty. Well, thanks & no thanks - because it's sold out, and I can't much decipher how much it was anyway. But isn't it the dreamiest?? Anything alpaca is always so soft and snug...and the lining! Swoon...
