crush of the week

I've had a holiday from blogging whilst we had two actual holidays, with some lovely family-wide flu and birthday mayhem in between. But now I'm determined to get back on track - though we have been in the UK two days and already both the squids are up to their eyeballs in snot and I'm spending most of my time fixing hot lemon, cinnamon & manuka honey drinks for them (Indy is most perplexed by these concoctions...)

Meanwhile, in my fantasies, I shall be purchasing these dreamy sheets from D. Porthault seen in the snaps of Rita Konig's magical little home on The Selby. I'm trying to hunt them down in the UK - God forbid I have to end up making a trip to Harrods. Also I have discovered they cost an extremely large amount of money and were inspired by the Duke & Duchess of Windsor. Visit the D. Porthault site at your peril - pretty much everything on there is gorgeous and you'll probably end up contemplating selling one of your own children to own a crisp new set of their sheets. Or even just a washcloth.

crush of the week

With the streets of London awash with ice and grime, and hot Mediterranean summers looming on the horizon...of my imagination...it's only natural I should start dreaming of baby bloomers. Right? There is nothing sweeter than little cotton toddler baggies, pantaloons and knickers in beautiful prints and patterns. Indy's drawers (HA!) are fairly stuffed with them already, and she has been sporting them all winter long over tights, which I think has been a pretty rad look for her... Of course, as with most of these baby clothes crushes, my real wish is that they made them in my size. (Luckily for the rest of mankind, they don't.) Indy's top most awesome pair of bloomers are from Simple Kids - white knickers with metallic green and pink thread running through! - though I just had a proper hunt and can't find anywhere currently selling any online. SAD TIMES. Or just another excuse to pop to Liberty, where I got her last pair? I remember standing there, pregnant and bewildered, for what felt like hours as there were so many incredible patterns to choose from. In the meantime, feast your eyes on these beautiful little summer trousies from Caramel...

Latest fantasy purchase is this embroidery by Rachel Castle. So simple, and makes me so happy. I want to hang it above my bed for every rainy day.

She makes plenty more gorgeous stuff besides... all available at castleandthings.co.au

crush of the week...

Alarm - the new Bobo Choses collection is out and obviously I adore it... I can't work out what it is that they always get so right. It's a lovely mix of design and comfort with nostalgia (for me) and genuine childishness. Dreaming of having it all...

It was pretty much impossible for me to narrow my crush down to these six items, the rest is almost-just-as-gorgeous. Available now from Bobo Choses, Shak Shuka and more.

crush of the week...

Thank you magical Pinterest for drawing my eyes to this little beauty. Well, thanks & no thanks - because it's sold out, and I can't much decipher how much it was anyway. But isn't it the dreamiest?? Anything alpaca is always so soft and snug...and the lining! Swoon...

christmastime: pablo's wishlist part 1

Technically Pablo's wish list can be bought exclusively from the Marvel wall at the Disney store. So this is really the things I want for him (all of these are secretly my wish lists! Sorry I'm not sorry...)

1. Feiyue sneakers - these are so cool! Can't really justify the winter spend as it's going to be too soggy/muddy to wear them till Springtime, but still want them...
2. Erzi Sardines in a tin - need to up the play-food collection and these are extremely cute. Perfect to go with the toy cash register and shopping basket we got him.
3. Radio Flyer - a girl can dream. I mean a boy can. It's for him, but it would make us BOTH so happy! Have wanted one of these forever...

no, really...let it snow

Please can i go skiing...or move to a mountaintop...just to have an excuse to buy this for Pablo? I'm in love.

christmastime: mama's wishlist part 2

More beautiful treasures from my prezzie dreamscape....

  1. Stocking stuffer of dreams - Anthropologie have this rad little spice jar with a heap of different coloured lids (obvs I'd like them all, please, except maybe not green...). I could decant all my ugly baking powder etc into these dreamy little jars! They are only £8! Come on, Santa...
  2. Oh the bakes I could make! I have one pretty little blue and white enamel pie dish but I clearly need more. SO so lovely, especially in the red. And the grey. And the blue. From Falcon Enamelware.
  3. These are all depressingly kitcheny, but whatever. I have wanted this *apparently sold out - HORROR* cloud cookie cutter for about 5 years and counting. It feels like 5 million years. Whoever buys it for me gets cloud-shaped biscuits, doughnuts, marshmallows and pies for all eternity... from Herriott Grace

christmastime: mama's wishlist part 1

Husband & I are danger of making one of those "don't get me anything big this year" pacts, but let's pretend we're not...

  1. I'v never even smelled this but it's called Coqui-Coqui Coco-Coco so I MUST OWN IT. They also have a bloody lovely looking spa residence in Tulum. Please can I go? Please?
  2. Take a minute to imagine how AWESOME it would be to own this entire rainbow of Marimekko ice cream bowls. Just me? Ok, I know I don't have enough space (or enough friends?!) to justify such an extravagance, but for aesthetics alone...swoon. From Skandium.
  3. I am going through very nice, not un-pricey coffee like wildfire because I keep trying to make espresso-strong coffee in my beloved cafetiere. That and the tedium of heating milk in a saucepan each day MUST STOP. Please Santa.... Dualit espresso machine.

Bear is my only comfort (and other scarves)

My super talented painter friend Tahnee has just collaborated with Mercy Delta to produce these lustworthy silk scarves, each featuring a print from her Impressions Of A Wind Up Bird series. Her paintings are so very beautiful, I can't think of anything nicer than wearing one. Except maybe owning lots. They are available *right now* from Matches.
