crush of the week

Indiana is getting a new bed for Christmas. We will need a lot of luck and patience once she is released from behind the cot bars, but she is convinced she is a grown up and therefore both confused and furious about plonked in her own little prison night after night…so it's time. The bed is bought, and I've invested in *hours* of very important (& not at all indulgent) bedding research. It turns out there's a bit of a gap in the market for beautiful, affordable girl's sheets that aren't very gingham or covered in ballerinas, but a handful of really lovely designs at the exquisite-but-a-bit-of-a-treat end of the spectrum. There's Lulu & Nat with their magical rainbows and neon butterflies,  and these perfect pink clouds from The Little Baby Company…but then I stumbled upon the ultimate...

Little Cabari specialise in stunning, handmade linens and other children's decor - including the most snuggly looking sleeping animal rugs, and entrancing wallpapers. The designs manage to be both timeless and playful, with hidden little characters and really beautiful colour combinations. They aren't cheap but they are high quality and the stylish, un-faddy design is worth the investment, if you can. Definitely one to watch, and really really want….

Happy Birthday Edie

Two little parties for Pablo's best best best friend Edie, one after school cupcakes in the park and the other a superhero pizza party at the Vestry House Museum. Supermen everywhere, and a rare opportunity for Pablo to scamper about with his lovely Montessori pals. Happy 4 beautiful Edes!

christmastime: pablo's wishlist part 1

Technically Pablo's wish list can be bought exclusively from the Marvel wall at the Disney store. So this is really the things I want for him (all of these are secretly my wish lists! Sorry I'm not sorry...)

1. Feiyue sneakers - these are so cool! Can't really justify the winter spend as it's going to be too soggy/muddy to wear them till Springtime, but still want them...
2. Erzi Sardines in a tin - need to up the play-food collection and these are extremely cute. Perfect to go with the toy cash register and shopping basket we got him.
3. Radio Flyer - a girl can dream. I mean a boy can. It's for him, but it would make us BOTH so happy! Have wanted one of these forever...

seeing stars

Pablo's awesome auntie Zara took him to a movie premiere in Leicester Square last night, mega exciting! He had a dinner of mostly sweets, with a side of crisps, and stayed up till 10pm pretty much exploding with joy. They went to see Nativity 2, and so far I haven't even had a proper account of what happened because this morning he was so tired it was like breakfasting with a tiny manic depressive. Worth it though.

our family photo

So excited about the pop up family photo studio my clever friends Sarah and Tara have just started. Our Family Photo offers affordable and relaxed family photo shoots, where kids are free to scamper about and be cheerful, by Sarah's award-winning photographer husband Andy. The next dates in Stoke Newington are 11th November and December 2nd and 9th, in plenty of time to solve the hideous "What the hell are we buying the grandparents for Christmas?!" dilemma. Currently they are offering a bananas introductory offer of £100 for a session - which includes the whole shoot, an online gallery and two digital print-quality jpegs. Bookings, enquiries and all that jazz at Our Family Photo.

Halloweenies

Excuse for a party at Edie's...

dying of love

Pablo has been an absolute dreamboat since the weekend, and this picture just sums up his total cuteness and makes me want to explode with love for him. He's been coming up to me and spontaneously announcing "Mum, I love you more and more!" multiple times a day, been so caring and helpful with Indy, and even gladly put his toys away a couple of times (unheard of). I am sure another ratty phase is around the corner but for now I"m soaking up this gorgeousness.

yes please buy me these

I am dying of lust for these little Bobo Choses dresses. They are beautiful and evocative and comfy and fun and just about perfect, as far as I'm concerned.  Where I can track them down they are for much bigger littleys than Indiana will be for at least another 5 years, but sadly much smaller girls than me. Oh but if they made them my size! Or her size! I might even find away to excuse the £60ish price tag if that were the case. I have even had actual dreams about them...
